For the very first time after over 30 years of being a musician, I have tried to transpose musical emotion into a visual form onto canvas. It goes without saying that picture and sound have many points in common and one may find numerous tangents, but probably exactly because I have worked professionally for decades in both of these disciplines, crossing over their borders is not essential for me.This four-fold vegetal-abstract composition is painted over old pictures from the Seventies. The base for these particular works were four uninspired and boring color variations of the profile of a bald man with a necktie. The new layers of nature-related colors with their dynamic lines and forms of extremely enlarged vegetal shapes represent a parallel to the four tempo movements of a classical piano sonata.

Zum ersten Mal habe ich hier versucht, musikalischer Empfindung eine visuelle Gestalt zu geben. Als Grundlage diente die Form einer klassischen Klaviersonate in vier Saetzen. Es versteht sich von selbst, dass Bildliches und Klangliches viele Bezugspunkte und Parallelen haben, aber wahrscheinlich gerade weil ich beide Disziplinen seit Jahrzehnten berufsmaessig ausuebe, draengt sich eine Grenzueberschreitung fuer mich nicht auf. Starke Vergroesserungen von pflanzlichen Formen und eine naturbezogene Farbgebung sind die optischen Elemente dieser abstrakten Kompositionen, die Uebermalungen von vier langweiligen Seitenansichten eines glatzkoepfigen Kravattentraegers aus den 70er Jahren sind.
